Congratulations!  You've been selected as a preceptor!  Now what?

We know that this role can feel overwhelming at first.  We suggest the following checklist to help you get organized and launched successfully:

These things should happen as part of the selection and notification process:

  • I got trained
  • I know who my senior preceptor is and how to contact him or her
  • I know when and where my weekly planning meeting will be
  • I know the date and location of my first study group
  • I know who my preceptor partner is and how to contact him or her

These are the steps you need to take:

  • I have talked to my preceptor partner (by email is fine) about the first study group
  • I have read AND PRACTICED "Starting a study group"
  • I have a copy of the agenda for my first study group
  • I have read and set a skill goal for myself
