Cardboard Prototype

What worked: When link 1 was increased, the correct shape was shown.

What didn't work: After we analyzed the linkages, we noticed that we weren't getting the correct motion due to a math error resulting in link 1 being smaller than necessary. This can be shown in the cardboard prototype because we ended up not using the cardboard link for link 1 to connect the two links. We had to move it further right.

Wood Prototype

As seen in the video, the wood prototype has the correct movement and shape as we had desired from this mechanism. This is due to the higher accuracy in measurement and assembly through laser cutting and nuts and bolts, in contrast to the cut cardboard and screws of the cardboard prototype. This mechanical prototype shows proof of concept. For future iterations we plan to introduce electrical power via a motor to move the linkages and adding hooks to the end of the long arm and base for the noodles to hook on to. We would also like to improve the aesthetics and make it more appealing for potentially a culinary audience.
