Step-by-step installation guide for UT ChE students enrolled in a course utilizing JMP
Once your EID has been submitted by your professor, you will need to complete the following steps:
- Map a drive to your computer using the following path in the "folder" field \\austin.utexas.edu\disk\che-share\JMP . The Drive letter doesn't matter. If you are unsure how to do this,
Read “how to map a drive Windows 7” here or “how to map a drive Windows 8” here. Make sure to uncheck "reconnect at login" and to check "connect as a different user". - For the username, enter austin\your EID e.g.,
- Note: Attempting this from on-campus will work best. If you are off-campus you must first follow these instructions to make a VPN connection, and then proceed with the instructions. http://www.utexas.edu/its/vpn/
- Once you successfully connect, you will see the following:
- Right click setup.exe (with the installer icon, second in the above example). Follow all installation prompts.
- After JMP has installed and you start it, you will likely be prompted for a license. Copy the JMP10_Win_X64 to your computer (desktop, etc.) and point the installer to the saved file.
- You may ignore the "customize your license" message.
