Requirements for Remote Access
- UT EID, or a project server account, depending on what service you will access.
- UT VPN Client – https://vpn.utexas.edu
- UT VPN Install Guide - VPN Setup
- UT DUO App - Setup UT Duo for Mobile Phone
- UT DUO Account – https://utdirect.utexas.edu/apps/duo/register
- Windows 10 - Remote Desktop Connection App. The App is built into Windows 10.
- Mac - Microsoft Remote Desktop 10 App for Mac available from the App Store.
Getting Accessing to a Project Server
- If you do not have a UT EID, a PRC acco, or a project server account, please get in touch with your project manager to have them request you an account.
- If you have a PRC account or a project server account and don't remember your credentials, please check Stache. User account information is shared using Stache.
- Make sure you have set up DUO. Access to the project server requires two-factor authentication using DUO. If you have issues setting up DUO, please get in touch with the ITS Helpdesk at 512-475-9400.
- Make sure you have the UT VPN client installed. If you are using your personal computer, you will need to install the UT VPN client. If you are using a PRC-managed desktop, please submit a request to help@prc.utexas.edu to have the UT VPN client installed. All PRC-managed laptops already have the UT-VPN client installed.
- Set up a remote connection to the project server. Refer to the Setting Up a Remote Connection.
