Daily Workflow (Brief)

If you are not personally authorized then log in to computer using the pull list log in and password.

Access the request by clicking the ARCH-shortcut on the desktop.

  1. Print the request slips in your branch folder on the X: Drive. Once printed, move the file to the Completed folder.
  2. Search your stacks for the books and journals using the Call No.'s (or Journal titles) printed on the request slips.
  3. Locate and bookmark each article/chapter with its request slip -or- write the conditional/cancellation reason on the request slip.
  4. Log in to scanner with EID. Scan and deliver each article/chapter using the ILS Lending Requests button -or- use the Lending Unfilled Requests button to deliver a scan of the request slip with the Conditional/Cancellation reason written on it.
  5. Log off. The only way to log yourself out of the scanning station is by hitting Ctrl+Alt+Del and selecting Log off.

You will automatically be logged off after 10 minutes of inactivity.

Reasons for Conditional/Cancellation, with abbreviations:

NOS = Not on Shelf

NFAC = Not Found as Cited

BTT = Bound Too Tightly to scan legibly (see instruction for ILS KIC scanning (bottom of page); document may be scanned with KIC scanner)

PC = Poor Condition- item will be damaged if scanning is attempted (see KIC scanner)

VNO = Volume/issue Not Owned- we lack the needed volume, or the volume is incomplete

If the reason does not fit into any of the above, just write out a short explanation on the request slip.

CP = Copyright Page;

TOC = Table of Contents;

EOA = End of Article;
