The DCs in AWS are grouped based upon the AWS regions they reside in and their intended purpose.
Do not use domain controller hostnames when configuring applications to access the Austin Active Directory. The Austin Active Directory provides supported hostnames for application access: Active Directory Hostnames
Do not use domain controller IP addresses when configuring firewall rules for accessing the Austin Active Directory. The Austin Active Directory provides supported address ranges for firewall rules: Active Directory Networks
DCs in US East 1 - PLANNED
The DCs in the US East 1 region (aka WE1 DCs) will support authentication and authorization for domain-joined devices connected to the Cloud WAN in the same region. The WE1 DCs will be deployed in early-to-mid 2023.
These will be in the AWS-us-east-1 site and will use InCommon certificates.

Legacy AWS DCs
The legacy AWS DC is in the US East 1 region and supported testing of connectivity to AWS infrastructure. The legacy AWS DC will be replaced by DCs in the US East 1 region when WE1 DCs are available in that region.
This DC is in the AWS-us-east-1 site and uses InCommon certificates.
