Announcements

Great job with the workday, we got a lot done!

  • I would like to see if everyone can be at workday by 9:30, that means no info at the start is missed and we can maximize workday.

Timeline Reminder

Andrew

  • fixed shock CAD for kayla

    image-20241115-005511.png

  • reviewed current geometry

William

I tried looking for resources on how to minimize bump steer for 6-bar linkages. I have an idea that could potentially work, so I tried testing it in Solidworks by adding it to the suspension reference sketch.

Joshua

Worked on making a 3D sketch of the steering linkage into the suspension sketch with the IC axis and a moveable steering rack height. Asked in the dynamics collab channel but will have to discuss further for the best way to minimize bump steer.

Jonathan

Still working on swing arm, quick drawing just to get an idea of where to start with the motor in place and account for tire.

CAD still in progress, will try to grind it out.

Sohan

Will not be here for workday.

Worked on rotor designs w/ swimming and revising brake calcs to ensure accuracy.

Calcs kinda cooked bc we have no exact metric of how hard the driver will push the brakes when the panic so basing everything off of 60 pounds force after a talk w/ kenta

Tried to familiarize myself with Ansys but keep getting licensing error, need assistance at meeting.

Manas

Haven’t worked much on the hardpoints sketch since workday, need to work on finalizing dimensions etc.

Kayla

My updates:

  • I made a dummy assembly so that we can model our motion rates in 3d

    • frame integration - important because i may change inboard points to fit around driver model

    • unsprung dummy assembly integration

    • steering potential

  • let me show you combustions

  • walk through current CAD library

  • I do need to adapt the naming conventions and the reference sketch needs to be reversed

  • next: loop back around to the first square and confirm things ab our spring rate, learn a bit more ab desired wheel rate, i need to confirm our camber gain rate asap, this would change inboard hardpoints

  • machining the carbon fiber pushrod inserts at the moment with advait

  • soon: top op bellcrank practice, pushrod buckling practice

    • i want to review hand calcs asap to get a better fundamental understanding
