The candidate must provide a short personal statement (limited to four pages) that summarizes their accomplishments and goals related to research, scholarship, and creative endeavors.

  • Candidates should focus on accomplishments in rank, which may include work conducted at another institution, and should articulate a plan for future development of their research, scholarship, and creative endeavors.
  • If the candidate has continued to collaborate with their PhD advisor(s) or postdoctoral mentor(s) while in rank, they must explain the nature of the collaborations and why the collaborations are in the best interest of their future development as an independent scholar.
