Graduates employees must:

  • Be in compliance with Enrollment Requirements
  • Have an up-to-date I-9 and Background Check with UGS
    • All student employees are required to have a social security number

A full list of departmental Graduate Advisors can be found here: https://gradschool.utexas.edu/connect

Example of email confirmation:

Dear "Supervisor",

Thanks for asking. You have my approval to appoint "Student" (EID: "eid123") to 8 additional hours above her current 20 hour per week appointment. Feel free to contact me if you need additional information.

Best regards,

"Graduate Advisor"

GA requirements:

Same as above, GAs also must work 20 hours every week they are appointed. GAs are eligible for health insurance and will receive email notification directing them to the sign up directions - typically this information will get to them a couple weeks into the semester.
