The commons and classrooms are shared places.

Different configurations and outcomes come with the uniqueness of the design and the various use cases of the classrooms and commons. The space is yours to seize and use–but with that comes a need to make it easier for others to use.

You'll find RESET reminders around the commons and inside the studio classrooms showing reset procedures in three simple steps in digestible pictures. This guide is designed to complement those posters.

Resetting is an important part of using the Commons. It ensures a seamless flow of work for everyone.

  • Please take a few minutes at the end of your session to reset anything you have moved, and to crank the tables back to their default height.
  • Return extra chairs to their carts. After an event requiring a large number of additional chairs, please make sure to return the chairs, stacked, on the carts at the end of the corridor.
  • Budget time for resetting and delegate people to the task as necessary. If everyone participates, no one loses time re-configuring the space from the previous person’s session.

Step 1

Lower tables to their original height and return them to their intended layout.

  • The commons have a fluid layout. Space Camp students and members are always trying out new layout options in AHG. When in doubt, reset it back to the way you found it.
  • If sitting at a table: push in chairs, and stack any extra rolling chairs.
  • If in the classroom studios (AHG 1.308, 1.310), push tables into groups of four (one extra table at the front), and stack extra chairs.

Step 2

Pick up any trash or other articles and dispose of them properly

Step 3

Return supplies (sharpies, tape, glue, rulers, etc.) to the prototype carts and the HDMI cords to 1.308/1.310.

  • If you use any of the projectors in the commons, make sure to return cords to the appropriate room (either 1.308/1.310, or the collab rooms)
