Karakuri is the creation of paper models with simple mechanisms that allow for movement in interesting and fun ways. For my project, I made the Wild Wild West model from the book "Karakuri: How to make paper models that move" by Keisuke Saka. The book provided instructions and the shapes needed to make the model. The pages that describe how to make the main mechanism are pictured below. The tools I used for this project were a glue stick, scissors, and a kitchen knife.
