Our final prototype (shown below) is a combination of a refined version of our preliminary prototype and its mirror connected with a shelf in the middle. This closed kinematic chain converts the rotary motion of the input crank to the curvilinear motion of the shelf back to the rotary motion of the input crank counterpart on the right. The input crank is turned with a handle from 0 to 34 degrees, opening and closing the shoe rack.
