VII. Future Work - Concentric Exercise Device
With some modifications, we do believe this concentric-only exercise device has potential as a beneficial product in the field of physical therapy. Several ways to majorly improve this product would be to spend time designing blades for the fan (with exceptionally high air resistance for their size), and overall, the device would need to be more robust (stronger materials, a more stable grounding system, etc.). Additional attachments–such as a more ergonomic handlebar, handlebar-catching system, and an enclosed design–would make this product more practical and safer for most uses. This would overall increase the cost of manufacturing, but we do believe that this initial design provides a good base for a relatively inexpensive, yet effective product.
