The goal of our project was to commemorate the success of Atlas, a humanoid robot developed by Boston Dynamics.

The intention was to create a diorama in the style of a merry-go-round. Atlas would perform a walking animation and periodically "jump" over obstacles as the platform rotated under him. Overall, the entire mechanism would be driven by a single motor and a series of gear trains.

Due to time constraints, we decided to remove the rotating platform and focus on the design of Atlas. Inspired by the design of,

we instead focused on the mechanism of Atlas. The final design is a walking Atlas controlled by a series of gears driven by a shaft through the body.
