The overarching goal of this assignment and project was to create a kinematic mechanism of which could be analyzed through the graphical and analytical methodologies learned in and out of the Robotic Mechanism Design course Fall 2015. While smaller topics like mechanical advantage and gear types/ratios were introduced, the course content mainly focused on developing methods for calculating position, velocity and acceleration of all points within simple mechanisms. Below are the details regarding the development of a bird wing mechanism within the confines of this course. Below the group, Saadia Razvi, Stephen Garza, and Alex Colella, explain how their mechanism came to be from the ffledging of the idea to the fully functional flight emulating mechanism.
