We've all been there. You spend hours pouring over an assignment, trying to select the best questions, hit that publish button and move on. Then the emails come in; a question has a typo, or other error. Fear not; there's a painless way to withdraw a question from a published assignment.

For assignments, click on the offending question, and scroll to the bottom of the page: item parts.


(If needed) Click the green + on right hand side to expand this section.

You can choose to withdraw the question and give full credit to maintain the same total assignment grade, or to simply take it off as if it never existed. (Either action will preserve the students' submissions on the "View Submissions" page.) Click 'Save' to update the assignment with this item withdrawn.


Additionally, on the homework page you can provide feedback about the problem with the question by hitting the little yellow flag icon on the right. That will take you to a page where you can indicate how we can fix the question for future usage: Reporting an error in a question.
