DUO serves as the University's two factor authentication method. People use it to access Office365, financial documents, and a number of other sensitive/important services. 

If a user is unable to use DUO for any reason, they'll need to be routed to the Service Desk (512-475-9400).

8/22/2018 FYI on DUO

Guest EIDs cannot use or register for DUO, convert these to Resource accounts.


As of 10/09/2018, two factor authentication is required to use a business class UTMail account. Note that this is managed through Google - DUO is not used for UTMail access. 

Instructions:

  1. Transfer to Service Desk (512-475-9400)
    1. NOTE: The queue is long (30-60 minute wait), so warn them about the wait and do a COLD transfer to the Service Desk
  2. Service Desk will switch the account to personal, help them setup 2FA, then switch it back to business account

**LAITS cannot do this work because we don't have the permissions
