Introduction to Unix/Linux Home
Welcome to the Home page for the CBRS Introduction to Unix/Linux short course 9am - noon on Wednesday April 23 and Friday April 25.
In this course you will learn the basics of using Linux from the command line. Introductory topics include the bash shell, basic text processing, and the filesystem. The course will touch on manipulating text files using standard UNIX utilities, how to string utilities together, and how to output results to files.
The goals of the course are to develop some basic comfort at the command line, get a sense of what’s possible, and learn how to find help.
A follow-on course, Intermediate Unix, is offered 9am - noon next Wednesday April 30 and Friday May 2, as well as an Advanced Bash Scripting course the following Wednesday May 7 and Friday May 9, 9am - noon.
