Vida Data Archiving and Management
Dear Vida Users,
Good news for data archiving and management !!!
BIC has managed to establish a network-transfer solution to archive DICOM data from the Vida. You can now send your data via a direct AET from the scanner to the BIC picture archive server (PACS), also known by its pseudonym, dcm4chee. Pease use this mechanism to archive your data going forward, instead of using a portable hard drive. Instructions are attached and can be found as part of the Vida User Guides on our Wiki. We recommend that L2’s perform this as the last step of the study once data acquisition and any in-situ analysis on the scanner is complete.
DICOM data on the BIC_PACS will be mirrored within minutes to the CBRS POD server which can be accessed via an sftp client. PI’s, please contact us at BIC support with a request for Data Access to be setup with a POD account and instructions for access, if you don’t already have one. POD accounts will expire after 1 year, but access can be maintained with a support request to keep them active.
BIC staff will perform a weekly data sweep on the Vida (Monday at 12pm) and delete the prior week’s studies. If you require a particular study to remain on the scanner for an extended period, please let us know in advance. We will endeavor to cross-reference studies on the Vida with our archive to ensure that all data is backed-up prior to deletion but we cannot assume sole responsibility for un-archived data.
We hope you enjoy this new approach for archiving and accessing your data.
Best wishes,
Doug and Cici
