2024-2026 Electromechanical Electrical SSR Notes
Data Aq:
New Sensors
- Steering Sensor (angle)
Break Pedal Actuation Sensor (potentiometer - angle)
Barometric sensor (downforce - mounted at rear of car), Humidity Sensor
- possibly two sensors for pressure differential
Controls:
New features:
- Motor
- 2 wheel drive → 2 motors!!
- 1 pedal driving
- Cruise Control
- On/off button on steering wheel
- +/- buttons on steering wheel to increase/decrease cruising speed
- fast control
- Interior Changes
- Buttons on steering wheel - dashboard switches move from dashboard
- ex blinkers
- adjustable fan control - potentiometer
- Buttons on steering wheel - dashboard switches move from dashboard
- Blindspot detection
- distance sensor
- SOM Design
- wiring constraints
Power Generation (Array):
Sensors
- Temp
- Irradiance
- Wires to both
- Bigger cells → less cells → new wiring needed for the array
Power Systems:
Power board
- switch from current system to a system that can shut off non essential systems when pulling from supplemental battery to avoid excessive power draw
Fuses
- Fuses for each component for over current protection
- disconnect from power sources for safety
New module connection/new wiring for batteries to make it the whole system less sketchy
Module = 9 cells in bracket, nickel plate spot welds to connect batteries in each module
Battery Protection Systems:
Boards:
- Leader
- Peripherals/Minions
- 3x
- Amperes (charge/discharge)
- Fan board
- switching to SOM design
