Summary:
Our goal for this project is to create a mechanism that will cast the line for a fishing rod. Our team will develop an autonomous fishing robot that simplifies the fishing process by performing all tasks independently. We are developing a robot to cast the fishing rod through multiple mechanisms through one to two actions with the activation of three buttons. At the end of this project, we designed and simulated a robotic fishing rod mechanism with a focus on the complex motion and force profiles necessary for casting. The mechanism is capable of a controlled 270-degree rotation, emulating the natural motion of casting a line.
