Production Approval Process
All student film productions must complete a Production Approval Form and have it approved at least two business days prior to equipment checkout. Â
***Productions without approval will not be cleared to pick up equipment***Â Â
Step 1. Visit the Moody Equipment Reservation procedures page to create your project. You may reserve equipment.
Step 2. Fill out the online Production Approval Form. Be sure to upload your shooting script when prompted.
Step 3. An email will be sent to your Instructor with details of your production.Â
Step 4. Schedule a Pre-Production Meeting with your Instructor.Â
Step 5. At your Pre-Production Meeting be prepared to discuss your production plan.Â
Step 6. After the meeting, your Instructor will either Approve, Reject, or Approve with a Safety Meeting your production. If your Instructor approves your production plan, then you are free to check out equipment. If your plan is rejected, then you must come up with an adequate plan and schedule another meeting with your Instructor.Â
Step 7. If your Instructor approves with a safety meeting, then you must send your script and production plan to the RTF Safety Supervisor via rtf-safety@austin.utexas.edu to schedule a Safety Meeting.Â
Step 8. At your Safety Meeting, be prepared to discuss how you will address all safety concerns within your script. The RTF Safety Supervisor will help address any issues and ensure that you have an adequate plan for filming.
Step 9. After the meeting, the RTF Safety Supervisor will approve or reject your safety plan. If approved, then you are free to check out equipment. If rejected, you must come up with an adequate safety plan and re-schedule a Safety Meeting with the RTF Safety Supervisor.
*** The Production Approval Process must be completed at least two business days before your equipment check-out or your reservation will be canceled. ***
