JAMF - How to Exclude a Computer Group From a Policy or Installation of an App

Login to JAMF

https://mdm.utexas.edu/

Click on Computers

Click on Smart Computer Groups

Choose the COMM-Exceptions – that you want to use in our case choose
COMM-Exceptions-Microsoft Defender

Double click the exception

Choose Edit in the lower left corner

Click Criteria Next

Click on Add to add a computer group

Click on Computer Group and Computer Group

Click Choose
On the same line as Computer Group

Click on the 3 dot selector to choose the group

Locate the group you want to choose in our example COMM – Teaching Stations

Select the "Choose" button next to COMM – Teaching Stations or whatever group you want

To add another group choose Add again

Click on Computer Group and Computer Group

Click Choose
On the same line as Computer Group

Click on the 3 dot selector to choose the group

Locate the group you want to choose in our example COMM – Lab Computers

Click Choose
On the same line as Computer Group

On the AND/OR
Choose or and then save

Choose Save
Now all the Teaching Stations and Mac lab seats are added to the exception
