Vault Permissions
Navigating Permissions Configurator, Administrator, and PowerUserÂ
Configurator
- In Configurator, you are able to view the Roles and Privileges for users in the selected vault
- Open the Configurator application, select the correct vault. This application will open to the vault you selected last.Â
- Note: Please ensure you have the correct vault selected in Configurator. The vault is listed at the bottom or you can check by selecting "Vault" at the top toolbar> "Open Vault"> and select the correct vault.Â
- Â Select "Vault" on the top toolbar
- Select "Roles and Privileges"Â Â
- A pop up will appear with the Roles and Privileges for each "Role" in the vault: Editor, FileAdmin, RetentionMangement, SysAdmin, Viewer
- Typically these will determine the roles' ability to perform the listed functions; however, there is a script that has authority over this list
- If a role should have permissions to perform a specific task, you can check the script
- Navigate to "Edit" on the top toolbarÂ
- Select "Edit Events" at the bottom
- The script will appear listing the roles that have the "true" privilegesÂ
- The Vendor did not state we could or could not edit the script. It is best to not edit the script as it could be linked to another script and cause errors for users.Â
- This script solely provides knowledge of which roles can perform certain tasks.Â
- When you are finished with the script, hit "Ok"Â
Administrator
- Review Adding Users and Permissions (Groups) to see the function and use of AdministratorÂ
PowerUser
- Review Assigning Roles for FAS Vault Folders to see the process for adding roles to specific folders in PowerUserÂ
- This process is not limited to the FAS VaultÂ
- Roles added or edited can be individual users or groups addedÂ
