Changing Between Quest Versions
There are System Admin functions in Quest that do not exist in the newest release such as the CUA Page and adding a new institution. You might need to go to an older software version to duplicate a student or instructor problem. Here is how...
Move Quest account to an older or newer version of the Quest Software
- Login to Quest System Admin - https://quest.cns.utexas.edu/systemadmin/main?tab_0=users-a
- Go to the Users tab, enter the UTEID, and click Find
- At the bottom of the page is Beta Routing. Select the version that is appropriate and click Update.
- pool 2 - Latest version of Quest software, where all latest/greatest software patching is done, and could be incomplete in terms of system admin tools
- pool 1 - Partial release of latest Quest software version. High School instructors and students are often placed on this version.
- none - Previous version of Quest software and will have all system admin tools
You would move an instructor or student to a different software version solve a login or software issue. You would move yourself to a different software version to:
- Duplicate an instructor or student problem
- Get access to the CUA page, to add a new location, to add a new institutions, etc.
Move your Quest account back to the newest release (pool 2)
After you as an admin have completed your work at a different release level, you want to return to pool 2. Here is how....
