Naming Conventions

Austin CAs should confirm to the following naming conventions:

  • Austin CA <year> (<function>

    <year> (<type>

    )  (<version>)

  • The function should be set to Root Prod, Qual, Test, External, Disk, Intermediate or Issuingor left blank for a production root server
  • The type should be set to qual or test as appropriate (ex. CAs in the CDS domain should be appended with qual or ADTEST)

Previous (prior to 2015)

Austin CAs should confirm to the following naming conventions:

  • Austin <function> Certificate Authority (<domain>)
  • The function should be set to Root, Intermediate or Issuing
  • The domain should be set the NetBIOS name of the domain (ex. AUSTIN, CDS or TEST)version should be populated when a new CA is required with the same year and function as an existing CA
  • Examples:
    • Austin CA 2016 Prod
    • Austin CA 2016 External
    • Austin CA 2016 Disk
    • Austin CA 2016 Test
    • Austin CA 2016 Qual
