Configuring the UT VPN Client

A Phone with the DUO App is required to use the UT VPN client.

If you are on a PRC-managed desktop, please email help@prc.utexas.edu to install the UT VPN client. PRC-managed laptops already have the UT VPN client installed.

1. Locate the VPN Client icon and connect to the UT VPN.
2. When VPN starts for the first time it will ask for the VPN server name. Type in vpn.utexas.edu. Click connect.
   
   
   
   
3. Next, type in your EID credentials.
   1. Username: Enter your EID.
      1. Logging on with only your EID connects you to the general UT network. 
      2. If you need to access a specific service or server, enter the username as EID@VPNGroup. Contact the PRC Helpdesk if you don’t know your VPNGroup.
   2. Password: Enter your EID password.
   3. Duo Passcode: Type the word Push and DUO will send a request to your phone to approve the connection.
      
      
      
      
4. Confirm the DUO on your mobile phone. The VPN will connect.
