Overview
The Master of Science in Information Technology & Management (MSITM) is a 10-month, STEM-designated degree that utilizes cutting-edge curriculum to address the changing landscape of businesses and career opportunities. It develops foundational skills in emerging technologies and problem-solving.
The MD/MSITM dual degree will produce physicians who can be leaders in addressing business challenges where medicine intersects with advancements such as blockchain, IoT, and machine learning. Students develop the skills needed to contribute to innovative solutions in diagnostics, data analytics, and precision medicine as big data and AI play an increasingly vital role in healthcare.
Curriculum
Students in the MSITM program must complete 36 hours of required coursework, as outlined in the table below. The 29 hours of core courses are required (with the exception of Financial Management if students have completed a similar upper-level undergraduate or graduate finance class, apply for a waiver, and are approved to take three hours of elective credit in the fall to replace the three hours of the course). The electives must be chosen from the prescribed list below and total seven (7) credit hours to meet graduation requirements. The Capstone is required of all students and is an opportunity to work with real world companies to build systems utilizing technologies learned in the MSITM curriculum.
