Head Linkage:
The four-bar mechanism controlling the head movement consists of; the ground link, which locks the cam shaft in place and provides the platform for the neck linkage to slide on, the cam shaft that provides the input motion, the body linkage that transfers the motion, and the head linkage that moves the head up and down. It operates in the form of a slider-crank mechanism, at an offset angle of 62º from the global coordinate system. This allows the head to move up and down at the specified angle, giving the impression of the bear popping its head out at the user.
Arm Linkages:
The Arm linkages use the motion of the slider (neck linkage) from the head Linkage to move the arms away from the face. As the head slider moves up and down, the arms are pushed in and out of the body through slots in the side. because these slots are stationary, the arm linkages also rotate toward and away from the face, making the machine appear to throw its arms away from its face as the head comes forward.
