To create a user account that is not associated with an EID (a non-LDAP user account), you must first have a non-LDAP organization to put the user. Follow these steps to create a new non-LDAP org and user.

Log on to https://utbackup.utexas.edu/ and click Organizations in the left sidebar.
Click on the name of the organization that you want to be the parent of the new non-LDAP organization you are going to create.
Click the gear icon, then Add a Child Organization....
Give the new child organization a name and click Add.
Click the name of the new child organization, click the gear icon, then Edit....
Click the Security tab, then uncheck the box for Inherit security settings from parent. Click Save.
Click the gear icon, then Edit..., then the Security tag, and verify that TED is not checked. Uncheck it and click Save if necessary, or click Close if it is already not checked.
Click the gear icon, then Add Users....
The only required fields for a new user are Username, Password, and Confirm Password. Add a First Name, Last Name, and Email Address if desired. Click Add User.

You can now use the username and password you created to log on to the CrashPlan client and back up a computer.
