Non-LDAP user accounts
To create a user account that is not associated with an EID (a non-LDAP user account), you must first have a non-LDAP organization to put the user. Follow these steps to create a new non-LDAP org and user.
Log on to https://utbackup.utexas.edu/ and click Organizations in the left sidebar.
Click on the name of the organization that you want to be the parent of the new non-LDAP organization you are going to create.
Click the gear icon, then Add a Child Organization....
Give the new child organization a name and click Add.
Send a request to the Help Desk, asking for a UTBackup admin to set your new organization to be non-LDAP.
After receiving confirmation that the organization has been set to non-LDAP, click the name of the new child organization, click the gear icon, then Add Users....
The only required fields for a new user are Username, Password, and Confirm Password. Add a First Name, Last Name, and Email Address if desired. Click Add User. |
You can now use the username and password you created to log on to the CrashPlan client and back up a computer.
