Mail usually arrives by or around 10:30am

1) Along with standard opening procedures make sure mail is ready to go. This included CDs and DVDs which must be placed in a padded envelope with the corresponding transit slip taped to the front of the envelope. All outgoing bins and any boxes need to be properly labeled. The strap must be fastened and tightened.

2) When the mail is received flip the label from ARG to PCG.

3) Steps for unloading mail.

  • Books being returned from other locations that are flagged for architecture need to be checked in.
  • New Journals are to be placed in Dan's box on his. If he is out then should be placed on Holly's New Journals shelf. Please be aware of items that look like journals but are addressed to either Beth, Martha, Nancy, Donna etc. and put them into their appropriate box.
  • New Books will have their book jackets and order forms inserted into the book and need to be placed on the new book shelf located on the backside of the pre-shelving area.
  • Books with a pink RUSH flag need to be placed in Martha's box for immediate review. If they have a pink RUSH RESERVES flag they need to be put into Dan's box.
  • Padded envelopes that have small type in lower right hand corner that say "from LSF" need to be placed on the student supervisor's desk by the back window.
  • Books that are recalled for Reserves should be placed on the shelf labeled on the right hand side of the Reserves aisle.
  • LSF library materials need to be placed on student supervisor's desk.
