Week 8: Bayesian Modeling Part 2 (Mike Daniels)
Mike Daniels will give a lecture on Bayesian modeling this Friday, Oct 18th. Mike is a Professor in Integrative Biology. His research includes work on Bayesian modeling with biological applications. You can read more about his work at his website: http://www.sbs.utexas.edu/mjdaniels/
The lecture involves the use of Bayesian inference Using Gibbs Sampling (BUGS). There are several implementations of BUGS; we'll use OpenBUGS. You should download this software before class. Be aware that it will take a bit of time to get this running on OSX! (It's straightforward for Windows users) If you're having trouble with the download and installation, try to come to class about 10-15 minutes early for assistance.
