2024 FSGP Competition Logistics

Pre-Comp Check List

General Details

FSGP will be a week long competition from Friday July 12th until July 18th. Competition will include one day for load in, three days of scrutineering, and three days of racing. Following the week of FSGP many teams will compete in the cross country race called ASC that we will not be competing. However, we will still be going to display day in Nashville Tennessee. Display day is exactly what it sounds like. During the day, all of the cars competing in ASC will be parked and displayed for all to see and serves as a good day to go around and talk with all the teams regarding their design choices and just generally to get to know a lot of other solar car teams. We will only be staying for part of the day as we will be traveling all the way back to Austin on the 19th.

Transportation

Transport to and from FSGP provided by the school will be in the form of 3 vans. Each of the vans has been rented under Sidharth, Gerard, and Cesar. We additionally have some personal vehicles that are being driven to and from comp. The vehicles have been split up and assigned as follows:

As for the members coming by flight, Please add your flight times here. Some of you are coming with family and some of you are planning on driving yourselves, but having all the flight times will be super helpful in coordinating rides, both for those of you already with cars and for those without. For those without cars, the vans will come down and pick you all up in groups.

Lodging

For the duration of the trip we will be staying at Super 8 by Wyndham Bowling Green North. Each room will house 4 people and are split into mens and womens rooms, as per university policy. Everyone will be assigned a room. You are welcome to swap with someone else on the team (given that they are the same gender) but you must inform @Sidharth Babu or @Nathan Lee of the change so it can be documented here. The room assignments are as follows:

Itinerary

July 11th

9:00 AM - Load up @ ETC and PRC (depending on closest location for you)

Truck will do a final check to ensure that everything is strapped down and the team will check that there is nothing left behind

9:30 AM - Depart for Dallas

12:30 PM - Arrive in Dallas for lunch and gas

1:30 PM - Depart for Texarkana

4:00 PM - Pit stop in Texarkana

4:20 PM - Depart for Little Rock

7:00 PM - Dinner and gas in Little Rock

Truck will stop at the Pilot Travel Center in Little Rock to fill up before departing

8:00 PM - Depart for Memphis for Bowling Green

12:30 AM - Arrive at Super 8 by Wyndham Bowling Green North

July 12th

9:00 AM - Wake up call and get breakfast

10:00 AM - Load up to go to race track as it opens

10:15 AM - Setup at the track and begin preparations for the week finishing the car etc

12:00 PM - Lunch break

5:00 PM - Depart to pick people up from the Nashville airport if necessary

6:00 PM - Dinner

11:30 PM - Head back to Hotel for the night

July 13th - 18th

7:00 AM - Wake up and have breakfast

7:30 AM - Depart for track

8:00 AM - FSGP Team Meeting

12:00 PM - Lunch

6:00 PM - Dinner

11:30 PM - Head back to the hotel for the night

*On the 18th, we will begin packing at 5PM and have a team dinner at 8PM

July 19th
