Cause of the max current → 10 mph issue?

• Configuration issue

• Our previous misunderstanding of motor controller: Bus (Battery) current = Motor current.

1. Torque decreased as Power = speed * torque

• On the testbench (without shell) torque is way lower. As torque increases when motor is equipped on the shell, speed decreases.

2. Bus I = Motor I (proportional to torque) * Load

• Refer to Wavesculptor document (Section 4.2)

• Motor current needs to be higher

  • Lower motor speed → lower bus current → lower motor current

• Need to understand how Brushless DC-DC motor works

  • Refer to Solar Car Primer Ch. 5 in Sharepoint/admin/

Controls system shutoff

• Not sure what the problem is atm

• Reproduce problem and diagnose

• Reach out to Jacob for dyno (reproducing load)
