Stream AI Captioning 

Stream will embed captions within the source file, as well as provide a downloadable transcript with timestamps and speaker identification. MS Stream cannot translate, however it can provide captions in multiple languages. 

The files are stored in your OneDrive folder. 


  • Log into MS Stream: Click Here
  • Under "Create New" click "Upload"

  • Choose the file you wish to upload from the dialog box. 
  • OneDrive is currently the only location available - click on "Upload"


  • Wait for the file to complete it's upload.

  • Once it is finished click on "Open" or find the file within "Created by me" and click on it's icon. 

 or

  • Once the video loads, open the "Trasncript and captions" menu under "Video Settings" to the right. 

  • Click "Generate"

  • Choose the "Spoken Language" - this should match the language of the speakers in the video file.

  • Once you click "Generate" the the AI Captioning will start. You will see an estimated time for completion. 

  • Once complete you will see the toggle for captions in the chosen "Spoken Language". The Video will also have embedded captions which can be toggled in the video player. 

    


  • To the right, click on "Transcript" to view or download the transcript. 

  • You may download the transcript as a .VTT or a Word Document (.docx)

  • You may also download the video locally from Stream or from OneDrive


Stream is a video service that allows people to upload, view, and share videos securely within Microsoft 365. Stream makes it easy to organize content into channels and groups, and integrates with other Microsoft 365 apps so you can easily add videos to your presentations or meetings. With features like automatic transcription and face detection, it’s accessible and easy to search for specific content within videos.
