Creating a mechanism that produces a constant output velocity is important for a variety of applications, so served as the focus point for this project.
The mechanism of interest is the 5-bar slotted slider, seen in the figure below:
The goal of this mechanism is to have a high degree of constant output slider velocity, followed by a quick return to home, for a given constant input angular velocity.
Additionally, the input link is required to rotate 360 degrees, and the entire mechanism must be sized such that it can fit in a backpack.
