Team 17 - 1) Introduction and Background

    The central concept of our project was latte art. There are many different shapes and styles of latte art, but we focused on drawing a heart for simplicity. The trajectory of the tip of the pitcher is complicated. The user must start pouring the milk at a high point and then decrease this position down to almost touching the coffee. The user then steadily pours the milk until it collects at the top of the coffee then they will sweep the pitcher through to draw the line that divides the unformed shape, resulting in a heart. To recreate this trajectory, a complex mechanism needed to be created that combined this multi-staged process in a single pattern.
