g) Conclusions and Future Work
We learned a great deal about mechanisms, tolerances, laser-cutting, 3D printing, and tool use from this project. We are grateful to Dr. Ashish Deshpande and Gu-Cheol Jeong for providing us this opportunity. If we have a future work opportunity on this project, we envision adding multiple shelves to this mechanism all driven by one input crank as shown below. Some areas where we see applications of this mechanism are as follows: shoe rack, automatic dispensers, car seat recliners, occupational therapy, nuclear material handling, etc.
