1. Introduction (Group 23)

Our group decided to tackle a fun concept of designing and building an autonomous pizza cutter. The initial concept behind this was to have a rotating plate that the pizza sits on while a pizza cutter cuts through the entirety of the pizza when the pizza is not rotating. For the pizza cutter design, our group decided on a three-bar mechanism where the pizza cutter is attached to a slider that moves back and forth while the pizza is not rotating. To rotate the plate, we chose a Geneva drive to rotate the plate in intervals so that the pizza has enough time to be cut before the pizza is rotated for additional cuts.
