4. Manufacturing and Assembly - SV
I started the manufacturing process by laser cutting three bars, one of which having a groove for the slider. I then had to laser cut a sheet of acrylic for the 2 mounting holes and a groove for the lateral slider. This was done using the laser cutting machines in Texas Invention works. It took several trials to get the proper lengths and sized holes.
I assembled my mechanism using a combination of bolts, normal nuts, lock nuts, and washers. It took a lot of tinkering to get the number of washers and bolts to avoid interference between the linkages.
