GLT Printing
We have setup two new multifunction, b&w/color printers in GLT in the lounge areas on floors 2 and 3 on the east side of the building. Please see details below for how to add the printers, copy and scan. These printers are for UT/ME business-use only. No personal printing is allowed. Since we are charged per page, please utilize color printing and copying only when necessary.
The GLT printers are locked down using individually assigned ID and PIN. Do not share your ID and PIN with anyone else. Print usage is tracked per individual.
If you have not been given an ID and PIN, please submit a ticket to mech-it@austin.utexas.edu to request access to GLT printers.
**If you need help installing, setting up or using these printers, please email mech-it@austin.utexas.edu to automatically open a support ticket with us.**

**We have set default print options such as black and white and two-sided, but these can be changed on demand for each print job or you can set up new defaults and/or saved presets on your computer yourself or with ME IT assistance.
**We have also disabled printing via USB drives at the devices for security and to prevent unauthorized printing. You can print directly from your computer without needing to copy documents off to a USB drive. Secure printing instructions can be found here - Windows and MacOS. This will allow you to hold print jobs at the printer until you release them.

Please follow the instructions here for your OS after installing the printers - Windows and MacOS
Copying - (locked down)
You must unlock the printer's touch panel with your assigned Department ID and PIN. Press "Log In" at the top right or select Copy to bring up login screen.

These network scan folders are temporary storage locations and files will be cleared after 5 days. Move your file off and place in your desired local or cloud storage location. If there is a specific security or business need that requires your own network scan folder, please submit a ticket to mech-it@austin.utexas.edu for review.
- Place documents in the top ADF (up to 200 sheets) or open and place paper on the glass flatbed.
