Secure Print Instructions - MacOS
These instructions allow you to send a password-protected print job to the printer where it will be held until you visit the printer and release the job.
After you send the secure print and want to return to regular printing, be aware if your printing preset is set to "Last Used Settings". Change that back to default settings or another saved preset.
1. Within the application you are wanting to print from, navigate to the print menu/section/icon to access the print dialog box. Select the desired ETC/GLT Canon printer in the available printer list.
Note: Example screenshots are from Microsoft Word.
Note: In Adobe Acrobat/Reader, select the desired ME Canon printer in the list and then click Printer... at the bottom of the print window.
2. Scroll down to the Printer Options section and expand it. Click on Special Features. You can collapse the Copies & Pages section if needed.
3. Change the Job Processing drop down menu to Secured Print and select OK.
4. Back at the main print window (in step 2), select any other desired print job settings and select Print at the bottom.
Note: (Optional) At this point, you can save these options as a secure print preset if desired using the Presets drop down menu.
5. After you click Print, you will get the pop-up below. Enter in the desired Document Name, User Name and PIN and click OK to submit the print job.
Note: This can be as simple as all 1 or as complex as you want it to be within the rules.
6. Go to the ME Canon printer you sent the job to and select Home in the top right.
7. Select the Print
8. Under the "Jobs to Be Printed" tab, find your document by job/document name and user name you set. Press the entry to select it and it will turn yellow. Press Start Printing near the bottom.
9. You will get a pop-up to enter the PIN you set for this print job. Enter it and then press OK to release the print job. The print job will clear the queue and you can hit Home to get back to the main menu.
