WINDOWS PRINTER SETUP

Press the Windows start menu button and type: "control" and select the control panel button when it appears

Select Find a printer in the directory and press next. Alternatively, if you know the IP see below

IF you know the name of the printer you can type it in the box below and press find now. IF you do not know try the location of the hallway it is in.

If you are not sure, you can do down the list of the prefilled search list of printers and see if you can find it.

LAST RESORT: IF you know the IP address and need it set up this way, select the following. For the device type, set it to TCP/IP device

For the hostname put in the IP address

Once you have typed in the info or selected the printer from the list of printers, It will ask for admin credentials to finish the install. Please contact someone at help@prc.utexas.edu to finish the printer installation.

APPLE PRINTER SETUP

From the Apple menu on the top left-hand corner of the screen, select system preferences and look for Printers & scanners

Once you are in the printer Icon menu select the plus sign. It will be locked and you will need admin to unlock it to add the printer. If you do not have admin rights you will need to contact help@prc.utexas.edu to finish the installation of the printer.

Now you can add a network printer by selecting the middle Icon. For the address place the IP address of the printer. For protocol select eh drop-down menu arrows on the right and select "LDP"

Once the information is filled in change the name field to reflect what printer you are using. Ex. PRC Floor Room number printer, SEA Floor Room number Printer, etc

Once this is done you should have the printer now show up in the list of printers and you can now start printing.
