Reporting Lost or Stolen Equpiment

Lost or stolen equipment should be reported to the UT Police Department at 512-471-4441 to file a police report about your stolen device.

You will also need to fill out the Stolen Equipment Report Form provided by the Information Security Office.

If the device is UT-owned, please also notify ECE-IT personnel as soon as possible at help@ece.utexas.edu. The IT group will coordinate with the Information Security Office to verify classification of data that was residing on the device and report any potential loss of sensitive data.

Remember that all University owned devices (laptops and desktops) are now required to be encrypted. Personal machines that have been authorized by the department Chair for UT business and contain sensitive, university data, must also be encrypted.
