Solution to Slow Detector Display on ICC
After IGRINS returned from UT in September 2014 we had a ~20 second delay in the H-band detector readout. This issue was independent of the network configurations on the DSC and ICC, and the replacement of the HP fiber optic switch being replaced by the McDonald switch.
The issue was fixed by:
1) Replacing the ethernet cable from the DCCH to the network switch in the electronics cabinet.
2) Changing the network settings to force the faster connection
- From the Run command: ncpa.cpl (or go via Control panel to Network connections)
- Right click on 'local area connection' > properties
- Click 'configure' to open new dialog box
- Change 'Speed & Duplex' to 1.0Gbps Full Duplex instead of the default 'Auto Negotiation'.
3) Rebooting the DCC.
The network settings and reboot were performed on each computer. This required use of a monitor and USB connected keyboard attached directly to the DCC since a network connection is required to use a remote connection.
All the detectors now read out correctly, without a delay.
