Impending Deadlines:

  • Can members present?

Action Items

Frame:

  • Body reference sketch refined and pushed

    • Adjust roll hoop to accommodate updated driver model (aeroshell)

    • Update rear frame to match the new hardpoints (Ask Kayla about the rear shock position

    • Adjust front HDPT cross-bracing

    • Talk to Evan about new steering coloumn position to match driver model steering column position

    • Confirm location of ballasts and add to reference sketch

  • Frame Sims - We want to be close to passing on most sims ← ?

    • We need RH sims set up and meshed

      • We probably want these passing above all because aeroshell is set to order their top-shell molds by 1/25

    • We need OC sims set up and meshed

      • Beam set up has all tube cross-sections to iterate in Mechanical itself

      • To what extent do we want to be passing on these sims?

  • Up-to-date Frame added to 000 Body Assembly

    • (Higher-level assembly for Body: will be built from frame reference sketch, all larger subsassemblies will reference the origin of the reference sketch. All smaller parts can be mated in-context)

  • Frame Jiggin approach is outlined

    • HDPT jig designs

    • Which ones we intend to machine/outsource

    • Rough welding plan

Ergo:

  • Preliminary CADs for next-gen

    • Pedal box and brake pedal

    • Seat design (rough manufacturing plan)

    • Steering wheel

    • Dashboard? ← Controls/emech now? will it be on presentation

  • Finished CADs for Daybreak

    • Finish daybreak pedal box redesign

    • Steering wheel

    • Close-outs

    • Belly pan tabs and materials finalized

    • Ballast box redesign

  • Ergo CADs added to 000 Body Assembly

    •

  • Ballasts locations

  • Individual is behind the seat

  • Common is in the front, will be added to sketch

  • Have both prelim and daybreak CADs done?

  • Next gen concerns with progress by end of winter break, what can we have done, just have what progress we have so far and approach

  • Main projects

    • Daybreak steering wheel and pedal box

    • Preliminary designs try to be pushed

  • Ask Diya about scope of dashboard and if its ergos concern

  • Continue Documentation on sim setups

Member Progress

  • How are we doing to maintain progress during break for all members? How to keep accountability with everyone and ensure we’re all on the same page?

  • Continue documentation

  • How do we delegate members ANSYS sims?

  • ANSYS learning hub? 🐒

  • Hard deadlines, keep bugging them but not too much

  • Doubt about members going through hella long ANSYS learing hub courses, look for shorter articles and videos

  • Online tutorials on how to run the sims

  • Ergo progress mostly done

  • Idea to offload sims: OC impact cases

  • Approach is to keep it as beam elements for OC load cases, learn more about why we choose to sim with beams instead of solids

  • Composites? Will Maylin be on that

Josh Action Items

  • Simulate roll cage B

  • Begin creating a V4 for new driver model

  • Refine frame ref sketch with corrected hdpts (front and rear) and ergo tubes

    • Ask Evan to update steering in ref sketch to match driver model

    • Ask Kayla about location of rear shock?

  • Make 000 assembly and port over frame ref sketch and up-to-date frame

  • Slide templates for PDR

  • Ask Diya about the scope for the dashboard?

  • Update member tasks in ClickUp

Kenta Action Items

  • Add common ballast to front in reference sketch

  • Finish Daybreak redesigns

  • Push on Noah pedal box redesign

  • Push on Akaash’s Daybreak steering wheel

Devansh Action Items

  • Check in with Abby and Grace on jig design

  • Check in with Maylin on composite research

  • System for simulating roll cage

  • Beam elements iteration set-up with cross-sections imported into Mechanical

  • Curriculum for ANSYS Learning Hub
