Overview of Mechanism
For this project, I decided to build a pump-jack/oil drill. This mechanism is similar to the one we worked on for homework 3 and 5, which is shown in Figure 1, but with different dimensions.

This resulted in the following mechanism:

The dimensions that I selected are as follows:
- O4B = 5 inches
- AB = 7.5 inches
- O4 ground = 8 inches
- O2 ground = 3 inches
- O2A = 2 inches
- Px = 10 inches
- Py = 3.5 inches
- α = 126.5 degrees
- ω2=10 rad/s (constant)
I fabricated the mechanism using wood strips, bolts, washers, and wood glue. The tools required to build the mechanism were an oscillating tool to cut pieces, and a hand drill to drill holes.
