1. Inspiration

I wanted to make a mechanism that I would find personally useful, so I thought about complex motions that I do almost daily. One particular motion I noticed was the pattern my fingers make as I wipe the lenses of my glasses. They move randomly with many changes in direction and speed. I decided to use a mechanism to convert simple rotational motion into this complex motion of wiping glasses.
