Team 8: Conclusion & Future Work
Conclusions:
In the end, we were able to successfully link our two subsystems together and get our entire system to function as desired. Our stamps came out with clean and well-pressured outputs without any delays or ink smears. The system has a good balance of speed and torque and is overall very clean, easy to follow, and aesthetically pleasing. An image of an output sheet can be seen below.
Future Work:
In the future, we feel that the gear ratio on the conveyor belt could be changed to have a faster stamping output rate. We also feel that we can modify the stamp itself to do more industrial-level processes requiring the same motion such as engraving into aluminum. Many companies have to engrave their logo into the parts they manufacture for copyright purposes, so there are many practical applications that the mechanism could have.
